Temperature-dependent resistivity in the doped two-dimensional metallic phase of mTMD bilayers

Two recent experiments from Cornell and Columbia have reported insulator-to-metal transitions in two-dimensional (2D) moir\'e transition metal dichalcogenides (mTMD) induced by doping around half-filling, where the system is a Mott insulator. In current work, we consider temperature dependent resistivity of this metallic phase doped situation away arguing that it arises strongly 2D Friedel oscillations (i.e. finite momentum screening) associated with random quenched charged impurities, leading to observed increasing linear-in-$T$ phase. Our theory appears account for temperature-dependent half-filling effective TMD band, showing screened Coulomb disorder an essential ingredient mTMD physics.

Analysis of the metallic phase of two-dimensional holes in SiGe in terms of temperature dependent screening
We find that temperature dependent screening can quantitatively explain the metallic behavior of the resistivity on the metallic side of the so-called metal-insulator transition in p-SiGe.
